Operational Excellence Specialist
The opportunity
Our GTA-based manufacturing client is hiring an Operational Excellence Specialist. In this role, you will be accountable for the end-to-end performance management system across Operations and Commercial functions. You will prioritize, optimize. and ensure excellence in data integrity, KPI governance, root-cause rigour, and sustained corrective action.

You will:
- Own data integrity. You will act as the single point of accountability for operational KPI data integrity. You will validate data from multiple functional owners and systems before executive review, identify recurring data quality issues and structural gaps, and design and implement standard work, validation checks, and governance controls.
- Lead BI partnership and enablement. You will serve as the business owner for KPI logic and reporting requirements. You will translate operational needs into clear BI and dashboard specifications, validate calculations, data sources, and definitions before automation, and ensure reporting drives action, accountability, and decision-making.
- Drive inventory analysis. You will analyze inventory performance across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. You will identify drivers of excess, obsolescence, shortages, and instability, translate insights into corrective actions and process improvements, and support S&OP governance by ensuring planning data is decision-ready and aligned to KPI targets.
- Lead process analysis. You will conduct a deep-dive analysis into end-to-end processes impacting KPI performance. You will identify root process weaknesses contributing to chronic KPI misses, partner with functional leaders to redesign, formalize, and stabilize processes, and ensure improvements are documented, governed, and sustained.
You bring:
- The education and experience. You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field. You have experience in operational excellence, supply chain analytics, manufacturing performance management, or process improvement and operations analytics. You understand S&OP and end-to-end supply chain flows, and how planning inputs translate into operational performance. You have exposure to complex manufacturing environments, as well as to inventory and materials analysis.
- The technical skills. You have a strong working knowledge of KPI governance frameworks, S&OP processes and planning data, inventory management and supply chain flows, and root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies. You have advanced Excel skills and can extract, clean, structure, and analyze data from multiple disconnected systems, generating clear, actionable insights. You are experienced in building and managing KPI datasets, ensuring data accuracy, and enabling tiered accountability cadences that support performance management. You may be familiar with project management approaches and ERP/MRP/MES systems. Ideally, you have experience in a Lean/Six Sigma environment.
- The interpersonal skills. You are curious and proactive, and you thrive in ambiguous environments. You have professional communication skills, including the ability to facilitate cross-functional discussions and support change management. You are a hands-on executor who can align stakeholders to decisions and reinforce accountability through structured reporting and governance.
Compensation: $70,000 to $75,000
