     The opportunity

Our client is hiring an entrepreneurial General Manager / Operations Lead to run a PE-backed diagnostic center & complementary business. They need a true operations leader to take ownership of day-to-day execution across the pair of healthcare services businesses. You will be embedded in the operation, working alongside teams and physician leaders to improve how the business runs. You will have the authority to change how work gets done, introduce structure where it’s missing, and hold teams to clear standards. 

In the first 6–12 months, you will stabilize and modernize operations; beyond that, you will focus on growth, efficiency, and capacity expansion. Success is measured in tangible improvements to throughput, staff productivity, patient satisfaction, and profitability.

More than strategic oversight, this role is for an operator who is comfortable being in the working environment, and accountable for outcomes. 

This existing vacancy is a full time hybrid role working 4 days on-site in North GTA.

You will:

  • Own and run the operations. You will take full operational leadership of multiple complementary healthcare services businesses, with clear accountability for workflow efficiency, service levels, and financial performance. Under your leadership, you will ensure both research and diagnostic services operations run smoothly and predictably, with measurable gains in efficiency and margin.
  • Build teams that operate with clarity and accountability. You will lead, coach, and develop front-line teams, setting clear expectations and performance standards. You will address gaps quickly and thoughtfully, creating a culture where staff understand their roles, take ownership of outcomes, and continuously improve how the business operates.
  • Establish operational discipline and visibility. You will introduce practical operating systems, KPIs, and management routines that bring transparency across functions. You will drive better decision-making, consistency, and sustained improvements in both operational and financial performance.
  • Optimize flow, productivity, and resource use. You will identify and implement improvements to patient flow, scheduling, staffing models, and overall resource utilization. This includes, evaluating and recommending if needed EMR upgrades, facilities and customer service improvements, and implementing standards of practice. You will reduce friction across the operation, improve the patient experience, and increase staff productivity while continuing to prioritize quality of care. 
  • Be a trusted partner to physician leadership. You will collaborate closely with physicians, translating clinical priorities into operational execution increasing confidence in the operational foundation of the business. You will ask questions to increase your understanding and proactively problem-solve to facilitate reliable delivery, so physicians will feel supported
  • Drive profitable growth through execution. You will deliver EBITDA improvement through operational excellence, with a clear and direct link between performance and compensation. You will establish yourself as the trusted operational lead, empowered to run, stabilize, and continuously improve the business with confidence from ownership.

You bring:

  • The experience. You are a high-potential, action-oriented leader with a background in M&A, PE, or consulting. You have demonstrable and progressive growth in operations. Ideally, you have exposure to a healthcare setting. You are comfortable owning P&L outcomes and are motivated by a clear EBITDA-tied bonus structure. You are process -minded and data-driven, with the ability to implement systems that improve throughput and margins. You are continuously always striving to build capacity and introduce efficiencies.
  • The leadership. You are an operations and  people leader. You know how to ask probing questions and translate needs into actions. You can bring teams together by building trust, setting expectations, and holding people accountable in a fair and direct way. You know that operational improvement only sticks when people are engaged and aligned. You seek opportunities to take ownership and bring about measurable, impactful change. You show initiative and sound judgement, with a proven ability to make decisive calls and challenge existing structure. You can identify gaps, recommend practical improvements, and support the implementation of processes that build capacity and efficiency.
  • The change and transformation management expertise. You have a proven ability to lead operational change and transformation initiatives. You have a track record of implementing systems and processes that improve throughput, efficiency, and margins. You can lead teams through significant operational change, driving accountability, adoption, and sustainable improvement. You can diagnose inefficiencies, implement new systems and processes, and ensure adoption across teams. You thrive in periods of disruption and can balance urgency with practical execution, managing both short-term fixes and long-term improvements while keeping staff and physicians aligned and engaged.
  • The relationship-building skills. You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You can build trusting, collaborative, and influential relationships with physicians and clinical teams while driving accountability and performance. You are comfortable working with diverse teams and bring a respectful, inclusive approach to your work.

Compensation:  $100-125K base + 15% OTE bonus
